Chof Beis Shvat

Our girls enjoyed a wonderful Chof Beis Shvat program today!

We put on our special tags, and headed down to the Razag, together with the other divisions, for a Bnos Menachem Family Farbrengen!  Torah, Tefillah and Tzedokah and a story of the Rebbetzin’s strength, started our program.  It then featured a game using our fun finger lights, a beautiful choir by Morah Rubashkin’s Kittah Daled, and a video that brought Jewish women throughout the ages to life.

One of the highlights was singing our Chof Beis Shvat Farbrengen Theme Song for this year, titled, “I Am You!”, with beautiful harmonies.  It brought home the message of our gathering in a very real way, reminding us that we are the Miriam HaNeviah and Esther HaMalkah, the Rochel Immeinu and the Rebbetzin, of our times.  We have the strength they did; we need only harness it, and flood the world with our light!

Continuing the theme into the afternoon, our students enjoyed a program with our high school, “My Little Light Makes the Whole World Bright!”  This activity connected the girls to the idea of making a difference and showed them how to do it.

They visited high school classrooms, watched a skit, played a game and paired up with high school girls for a mivtzoim craft.  Their cards and personalized Neshek kits will be going to children who are still learning about the beauty of Yiddishkeit—and will light up many corners of the world, all at once.

We are powerhouses of heiligkeit!

It was also a great honor to have the young Shlucha, Mussia Zaklos from Vacaville, California speak to the 5th grade class for Chof Beis Shvat.
